My lovely editor just sent me the cover for Bound to Shadows ( Riley 8  ) and I thought I’d share :)

bound to shadows cover

Deadly Desire (riley 7) is officially available in bookstores and online in the US. Woohoo!

and here’s a couple of reviews to wet your appetite:

from darque reviews: This is the seventh novel in the Riley Jenson, Guardian series, and Riley’s inner-wolf is on the prowl as the moon grows full. Ms. Arthur is at the top in her genre, and every new release shows that talent to its fullest. Deadly Desire is a dark and sexy read with an engrossing plot and well-detailed scenes. It will leave readers wanting more of the same.

Ann from Romance Junkies said: DEADLY DESIRE takes Riley Jensen hurtling towards things she never expected. The killer mystery serves as a plot to help drive Riley towards a new revelation that will change her life forever.  The secondary characters themselves reveal some interesting tidbits that help with the story.  Even though I just finished DEADLY DESIRE, I am already anticipating what happens next to Riley.

and Romantic Times gave it 4.5 stars and said: In the first-person travails of assassin Riley Jenson there’s always plenty of kick-butt action and scorching sensuality. Both as a woman and as a guardian, Riley grows stronger and more complex with each outing. Her life, however, never gets any easier.

there’s a review out for Deadly Desire, and you can catch it here

to be woken up than a dog throwing up right beside your bed at six AM in the morning?

Seriously. Eeeeeeewwwwwww.

Needless to say, I’m sitting here hoping this is not a pointer to how the rest of the week is going to go.

Okay, so what’s been happening in my writing world? The answer is, not much. I finally finished the edits on Mercy Burns (at midnight last night, I might add) and have sent it along to the wonderful Robyn for a read through. Hopefully, the story will hang together and make sense. Which means I can now start the 9th and final Riley–which is tentatively titled Captured by Vengeance. I’ve already done the outline for this, so I know where the story is headed, and I’m hoping that the actual writing of it will go smoothly. So of course, you just know the exact opposite will happen. lol

doing a personal training session the day before your birthday is a very bad move. Muscles that scream in agony every time you move does not make the task of cleaning up the house for the influx of family very pleasant.

Note to stomach: you can not have been hungry at 4.30 this morning. Not after the meal we consumed at the pub last night. Rumbling and grumbling at this ungodly hour will not get you fed; it will only make me grumpy. For future reference, please shut the hell up and let me sleep.

Note to everyone in Melbourne looking for a good pub meal: if you’re over this side of town, then you really can’t go past Hogan’s in Wallan. The food is brilliant and the prices reasonable. It’s not the cheapest pub, granted, but it’s value for money. The meal sizes are huge–none of us could finish ours, not even the guys! Oh, and the desserts? Delish!

On another note–I’m fifty today! woohoo!   :)

And you know what? I think I look better at 50 than I did at 40. Of course, that could just be me looking in the mirror with somewhat blurry eyesight. lol

And the winner of the Deadly Desire ARC contest is…..Lee Gane! Congrats Lee.  :)

In other news, they were predicting another horror day of heat and high winds here in Victoria, but it’s currently raining (which in itself is amazing–I’d actually forgotten what the wet stuff falling from the sky was given its been so long since we actually experienced it here in Vic!) and the trees are still, so fingers crossed it remains that way. The firemen need a break!

In writing news, I’m still doing the edits on Mercy Burns. I’ve rewritten/fiddled with the first two chapters almost nonstop to get them right, but I think I finally have. Hopefully the rest of the book will be a little easier to fix. It just goes to show how badly my muse and I weren’t concentrating when writing this though, because I haven’t written anything this messy for a while.  But then, I guess a marriage falling apart will do that.
