Cupcake porn… dessert of the day… Dame Jackie’s reaction at being caught by the photo ninja… much food, drink and laughter was had today. And many photos taken (mainly by me, much to Dame Rachel’s horror, as I seem to have a knack for catching her at the wrong moment. I will, however, restrain myself and show only the one….) Dame Agent, Dame Devon and Dame Jenna Dame Agent, Me & Dame Jenna A collection of Dames… Dame Rachel having a moment. We suspect Vicki Pettersson suggested Dame Agent loves her best,,,, A car being pushed through the foyer. Why, we have no idea Four dames in the wild…and up to no good Fellow Dames Devon Monk & Rachel Vincent…the candid shot (up to no good, as usual) and here’s the posed shot… and finally, Vicki Pettersson, myself and Jenna Black (trying to pretend she really doesn’t know the strange people in the corner…lol) Highlights of today’s tour included Longaberger Homestead, a canal boat ride (the boat was drawn by horses–it was fab) and Roscoe village. Here’s some pics–the first 3 are from Longaberger Homestead, the second 2 from Roscoe Village: Today’s tour included a tour of a nut factory (where many nuts–aside from the ones already on the bus–were purchased), a choc factory (where much choc was purchased), a glass factory (where nothing was purchased because the idiots didn’t have the shop open, thereby missing the op to make much mullah) and finally, the historical German Village. I would have like to spend more time here, but we’d basically run our of it by the time we arrived. These are a couple of shots of some of the amazing little houses there. Myself and Julie standing outside a bar whose claim to fame was bug juice… Today’s tour highlights (other than the bug juice) included a visit to a bookstore (imagine, a group of writers and readers doing that…lol) and a tour of Kelton house (which included high tea). We were supposed to visit the Statehouse and the Topiary gardens but we were late to the Statehouse (thanks to an overly long stay at the bookstore–again, imagine that), and by the time we got to the gardens it was bucketting down rain. So, we retreated to the hotel for dinner, which for me included a choc pie that was so large I could only eat half of it. I would have kept the other half, except for the weird fact that US hotels do not come equipt with fridges unless you preorder and pay through the nose. I mean, really people, you need to update this system STAT! You’d be lynched in OZ if you tried that. lol Piatkus have purchased the UK print rights for Risa 1 & 2, and in extra good news, have also purchased the e-rights. Which means this series, at least, will be available for download for Aussie folks! The current release date is set for May 2011, but it does depend on when Bantam decide to release (it’s tentatively set for May 2011, but that may yet change) otherwise know as the US for those Aussies not aware of the generous servings of most American food places It’s nearly one in the morning and I’ve just arrived in Columbus Ohio after a very long 24hrs of travelling. Qantas had my love for all of 2 hrs after upgrading me to business class, then lost it again by delaying the plane 3 hrs and not giving us any clue as to why. We suspect they were mashing plane loads together to free up more planes for Europe, but this was never actually confirmed. So of course, I had to make a mad dash in San Fran to make my plane and, as often happens, I got held up at customs. My carry-on, which had cleared Melb & Syd without problems raised a huge fuss in San Fran and had the customs folks all in a dither. Because you know, a small box of fridge magnets is an extremely dangerous weapon. lol. I know, I know, in this day and age it’s better safe than sorry, but why make it through two scanning stations and not the third? (oh I know why–it’s Murphy’s law–if you’re in a rush and late for something, everything that can go wrong will. lol) Anyway, I’m going to try and do daily updates of events here at RT, and if I can find the hotspots often enough, I’ll also be tweeting and facebooking. ANd hopefully, if the camera behaves itself, there will be pics. |
