First up, it’s my day to blog over at the deadline dames site today, so head on over there if you’d like to check it out. Today’s post is the second lot of notes from the Michael Hauge/Steve Kaplan the Art of Writing Romantic Comedy workshop.

In other writing news, not only has the Risa series got a new series name (The Dark Angel series), but the first book has gained its official name, too. From now on, it shall be known as Darkness Unbound. The second book has the working title of Darkness Rising, but given that’s the title of an upcoming Kelley Armstrong novel, I’m not sure if that will remain (although Risa 2 isn’t likely to come out until 2012)

Other than that, nothing much has been happening. I’m still being mighty slack over adding chapters to my online read, but I’m desperately trying to get Darkness Rising finished (or as near to finished as I can get it) before I go off on holidays to England and Ireland at the end of August. And right now, that has priority over everything else. However, I have got a Riley and Quinn short hanging around on my computer (it was the free story I wrote for Bantam’s newsletter) so I’ll try and get that up over the weekend. No promises, but it shouldn’t take me too long, and that gives it a better chance of happening than getting up another chapter of my free novel.

:)

I made the front page of the Berwick & District Journal! (must have been a slow news week. lol) Here’s the link to check out the write up and pics. And here’s the chat details for those who might be interested in popping in: Sunday July 18, 3-4pm, Narre Warren Library, Overland Drive, Narre Warren VIC. The chat is free, but bookings necessary. Call (03) 9704 7696 or head over to the website.

In other news, my old writing computer just about gave me a heart attack this arvo. Turned it on…and nothing happened! I spent the next half an hour alternating between panicking and cursing, and eventually the old girl decided to boot up. I’ve been running back-up ever since, just in case she decides to not-start tomorrow. I have also ordered a brand new computer–a very pretty 27inch IMac.
:)

yeah, I know I’ve been slack, but there really hasn’t been a whole lot going on. Risa 2 was rolling along nicely, but the edits for Risa 1 came in, and all work on book 2 has now ceased, as I need to get these edits back by the end of next week.

As those who follow me on twitter/facebook know, the Risa series is now officially known as The Dark Angel series. That means the name of the first book will now have to change. I’ve handed in a few suggestions, and we’re now waiting to see what the powers-that-be decide. As soon as I know, I’ll let you know. :)

And that, I’m afraid, is it. See, told you I was boring.
